4-Day Tour from Marrakech to Chefchaouen Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge

Your 4-day Marrakech desert tour starts from the Red City Marrakech with a drive towards high atlas mountain. Every traveler that has had a chance to bike through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass can attest to the fact that deep valleys and towering rock formations will welcome you as you navigate through the curvy roads of this pass. Another important scenic location is situated at Ait Ben Haddou, which is also a world heritage site. This one is one of the best preserved of the ancient ksars and numerous films have been shot there. Move on from the narrow buzzing alleys and head to Ouarzazate known as “the Hollywood of Morocco” You can tour the historical Taourirt Kasbah here.

Day 2:Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Arfoud – Erg Chebbi Desert

The first day’s activity of this 4-day Marrakech desert tour should include a drive through Dades Gorge known as the valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. Next up to visit will be the Todra Gorge which is has cliffs that offer an impressive wall view as you journey. Enjoy an easy going walk through a gorge and take a fresh and soft breeze blowing along the river. Later it goes on through the desert to reach the city of Arfoud, which is known for its artisanal fossil production. From here proceed to Erg Chebbi dunes where you start your desert trip. It will in the evening and you will take an optional camel back ride trip to explore the sand dunes before getting to our desert camp. Spend the night stargazing and listen to Moroccon music, enjoy Moroccan dinner and traditional campfire stories.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Arfoud – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Meknes

Take your time and practice morning exercise activities such as taking a walk during the early morning to have a good view of the strip of sand dunes to have a sunrise. After the breakfast, go back to the Merzouga and start your trip north through the Arfoud. You will also travel through the Ziz valley which is well famed for its many trees and beautiful palm groves and oases. The road then turns you into the Middle Atlas Mountains before you get to Midelt for lunch break. Moving on you arrive at Azrou, an importantBerber town flanked by cedar trees and with a colony of Barbary monkeys. Last stop comes to the imperial city of Meknes, the city of history and spectacular gates and a vibrant medina. Before the end of the day spend some time roaming around the city.

Day 4: Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen

The last day of this 4-day Marrakech desert tour takes you to the ruins of Volubilis which gives travellers an insight of Morocco’s history. Exploring the ancient ruins, such as mosaics, basilicas or columns will be greatly insightful., After that, it is time to move further north to the appropriately known as the Blue City – Chefchaouen in the Rif mountain range. Famous for its blue painted building and narrow lanes, Chefchaouen will provide you a rather quiet and beautiful conclusion to the tour.
